Five years have passed since the insurrection of Loronis. Five years have passed since Jayfor, the persecuted son of the king, and Trenson, the vagabond with a dark past, rallied a force to retake the capital of Faldon. Five years have passed since Loronis was restored and the usurper banished. And in the five years that have passed, Faldon has fought tooth and claw against the dark forces of Elara to stay alive.
