Description
'We will get Evan surfing' This statement seemed impossible after the complex diagnosis of my son. But we did! Evan did indeed go surfing!
Evan lives on an island in the south of England, with his family, dog, and cat.
In the summer of 2023, Evan took part in an adaptive surfing lesson, organised by his school as part of their P.E. curriculum.
Evan is a full-time wheelchair user, so this event was a dream come true.
This book tells the beautiful story of Evan's day surfing, accompanied by photographs and drawings.
At the back of the book are some activities to complete. This awesome day of surfing could only take place thanks to the Wave Project Isle of Wight (IOW) and iSurf.Surf school in Sandown A portion of the proceeds of this book will go towards this project so that it can continue on the IOW. The money will enable Evan and other wheelchair users to feel the freedom of surfing; to feel the wind and sea water on their face, as they rush towards the shore on this spectacular piece of equipment. The rest of the money will go towards Evan living his best happy life, and being everything he can be. Find us on facebook A Special Needs Blog
