Description
This children's story tells the story of a farmer who lies. Soon the lies become weeds in his garden, taking over his fruitful bounty. By the book's end, he learns the destructive power that exists in the seed of even a small lie. The rhyming narrative is interspersed with original drawings. The story begins: A long time ago there was an old man who had a garden as big as Japan, or so he said, for he always told tales. His lies were as long as choo-choo train rails.
