Description

Sherlock the Sheep is a charmingly illustrated childrens book written by farmer Nate from Upland Hills Farm and Illustrated by Debbie Waldorf Johnson. In this story Miss Marble accidently unravels her pet sheep Sherlock. She takes his wool and processes it to make yarn for knitting a sweater. Once Sherlock's has lost all of his wool he is cold and reaches around for something to cover himself with. He discovers the wool sweater that Miss Marble has just woven and he puts it on. With the playful use of onomatopoeia the story is able to teach about sheep, their wool and how it is made into yarn. The story also maintains a rhythmic bedtime theme. Every day at Upland Hills Farm, farmer Nate gets to see how farm animals behave. Through story he shares some of those insights in a way that young readers will enjoy. They will also learn something new along the way. This book includes a supplementary page that tells more about sheep, wool and yarn. Thanks for reading Sherlock the Sheep.
