Somewhere between the land and the sea: A Fishy Tail (Paperback)

Between the land and the sea is a series of picture story books for children where each story introduces new animals found in a rockpool that is uncovered every day by the tide. The sea leaves behind new objects or animals that provide a challenge for the rockpool inhabitants to solve or help with.
The first story introduces two common rockpool creatures that children will typically find when they explore rockpools themselves. The story concerns a flatfish stranded in the rock pool who needs help to hide from the Seagulls and the dangers represented by discarded fishing nets to marine life.
The author is a marine biologist who gained his love of the oceans from exploring as a child the rockpools of his local beach. Educating the next generation to protect and to love this special place is as important to him as the protection he works towards giving marine life in his current employment.
At the end of each book, there is a page for adults to share with the readers that produce interesting facts about the animals or provide more depth on the issue depicted on the story.
