Max, a curious and adventurous 10-year-old, is determined to solve a puzzling mystery that's been making waves in his small town-pets are disappearing, and no one knows why. When he teams up with his best friends, Ethan and Lily, they begin investigating, noticing strange clues around Willow Park: abandoned collars, missing animals, and an eerie, abandoned shed at the edge of the woods.
The trio's investigation leads them to a mysterious man who's been spotted in the park, acting suspiciously.
