The articles in this anthology deftly illustrate how robots come in all different shapes and sizes. One article discusses the unique challenges of a race through the Mojave desert between robots built out of military and sport-utility vehicles while another features the research and development of tiny robots called millibots that are no bigger than a matchbox car. Some robots are still finding their identity on the drawing board like "PC-Bots" that will be easily programmable with interchangeable parts, and some are happily cruising along the red, dusty surface of Mars like NASA's Spirit rover.
