Description
When her father's ill health leads to a family move from town to country, Moira and her dog Ripper become acquainted with next door neighbour Cathal the wizard. Cathal introduces them to Peri a mulberry tree that contains secret etchings and Theo a two headed bird who lives in Peri.
Theo takes Moira and Ripper on magical adventure to meet his family in the mystical land of Socotra in the Arabian Sea. There, Moira begins to understand the connection between Peri and the bloodwood trees in Socotra.
Back home meanwhile, overzealous council worker Veronica Swathy wants Peri uprooted and a race against time develops as Moira and Ripper become involved in a plot to save Peri and the secret etchings.
